How to Play Battle Royale — The Last-Man-Standing Shooter
Battle Royale is a top-down last-man-standing shooter inspired by PUBG. You drop into a map with 25 other fighters — and only one walks away with the Chicken Dinner. Loot weapons, stay ahead of the shrinking zone, fight smart, and be the final survivor.
Is this real PUBG?
Let's be honest up front: this is a single-player battle royale against 25 AI fighters, not real online players. True 100-player online PUBG needs dedicated servers and can't run as a free browser game. But the AI here does everything real players do — loot, hunt, fight each other, avoid the zone — so you get the full battle royale fantasy: the tension, the looting, the shrinking circle, and that euphoric Chicken Dinner.
The core loop
- Drop in to a random spot on the map.
- Loot weapons, armor, and medkits scattered across the ground.
- Fight — the 25 AI bots hunt each other and you.
- Stay in the zone — the safe circle shrinks, forcing everyone together.
- Survive to be the last one standing → 🏆 Chicken Dinner.
The controls
Battle Royale is a twin-stick shooter:
- Move: WASD / arrow keys (desktop) or the left joystick (mobile).
- Aim + Fire: mouse + hold-to-fire (desktop) or the right joystick which auto-fires (mobile).
- Heal: H key or the ➕ button (uses a medkit).
- Loot: walk over items to pick them up.
The weapons
Five weapons, each better than the last:
- 🔫 Pistol — your starting weapon. Weak but reliable.
- 🔫 SMG — fast fire, big mag. Great for close fights.
- 💥 Shotgun — devastating up close, useless at range.
- 🔫 Rifle — strong all-rounder, the workhorse weapon.
- 🎯 Sniper — one-shots most enemies. The king of long range.
You automatically swap to any weapon of equal or higher tier you walk over, so keep looting — upgrading your gun is the fastest way to win fights.
The shrinking zone
The iconic battle royale mechanic. A blue safe circle covers most of the map. Every phase:
- A smaller circle is marked with a white dashed line (the next safe zone).
- After a short delay, the safe zone shrinks toward it.
- Standing outside the zone deals damage that grows every phase — a slow drain early, a near-instant kill in the final circles.
The zone is what forces the 26 fighters together. You can't camp forever — the circle will always push you into the action.
Armor and healing
- 🛡️ Armor absorbs 50% of incoming damage. It effectively doubles your survivability — always grab it.
- 💊 Medkits restore health, but healing takes over a second during which you can't move or shoot. Heal behind cover, never in the open.
The strategy that wins
1. Loot fast at the start
The fighters who grab a good weapon and armor first dominate early fights. Don't wander — beeline to the nearest loot and gear up.
2. Let bots fight each other
You don't have to win every fight. Hang at the edge of a battle between two bots, let them weaken each other, then third-party the survivor. This is how pro battle royale players rack up wins.
3. Respect the zone
The zone is more dangerous than any enemy late game. Always know where the next circle is (white dashed line) and move early — getting caught outside in the final phases is instant death.
4. Use cover
Crates block bullets. Peek, fire, duck back. In the open you're an easy target; behind cover you control the engagement.
5. Position for the final circle
In the last small circle, positioning beats raw aim. Be inside the zone with a crate at your back while others scramble in from the danger area, taking zone damage. Let the circle do your work.
Why battle royale is so addictive
The battle royale format became the biggest genre in gaming for a reason:
- Massive stakes — one life, 25 enemies, one winner.
- Always different — random loot and spawns make every match unique.
- Comeback potential — find a sniper and you can win from behind.
- That Chicken Dinner high — surviving 25 fighters is a genuine rush.
Battle Royale runs on pure Canvas 2D for smooth 60 FPS on any device, with twin-stick touch controls on mobile and mouse-aim on desktop, plus a live minimap. No download, no signup — just drop in and fight.
Tips for your first Chicken Dinner
- Gear up fast, then play patient.
- Always keep one eye on the minimap and the zone.
- Don't take fights you don't have to — survival is the goal, not kills.
- Save a medkit for the final circle.
- Third-party every fight you can.
